Module 5 of the plug-and-play solution

GDP-compliant warehousing and hospital distribution — through DSW Logistik GmbH.

German hospitals have specific delivery requirements: German-language labelling, fixed delivery windows, sterile packaging standards, documented GDP-compliant cold chain. DSW Logistik knows these requirements and works exclusively for MEX clients.

  • Cold chain
  • Sterile shipping
  • Hospital delivery
The problem

Direct shipping and third-party logistics both fail on German hospital requirements.

Three routes fail structurally:

  • Direct shipping from the home market: customs delays, lead times that are too long, returns handling that breaks down.
  • A third-party logistics provider without MedTech experience: does not know hospital delivery requirements — complaints and disputes over deliveries follow.
  • Your own logistics department: too expensive and heavily oversized in a pilot year.

DSW Logistik works exclusively for MEX clients — a practised structure that knows German hospital requirements and is built for temperature-sensitive and sterile-packaged medical devices.

Vigilance Returns feed straight into the MDR pipeline (Module 2), not into an external system
The solution — Module 5

Five disciplines for German hospital logistics with MedTech depth.

DSW Logistik takes over the entire chain from the moment your products arrive in Germany — warehousing, picking, freight, hospital shipping, returns and inventory management.

01 / Warehouse

Goods receipt and certified warehousing

Customs clearance, GDP-compliant storage, inventory management, batch tracking and expiry-date monitoring.

02 / Cold chain

Temperature-controlled logistics

Validated cold chains with temperature curves recorded across the whole transport route.

03 / Sterility

Sterile shipping and cleanroom handling

Sterile packaging requirements are not compromised at any point in transport — including cleanroom-grade picking where it is needed.

04 / Delivery

Hospital delivery

Delivery windows, labelling requirements and goods-receipt protocols of German hospital logistics — an established standard, with no learning curve.

05 / Returns

Returns into the vigilance pipeline

Hospital returns are inspected, documented and fed into the vigilance pipeline (Module 2). Replacements are coordinated, expired products disposed of properly.

Where we differ

Why not a third-party logistics provider without a MedTech focus?

Logistics is not ‘just shipping’. In German hospitals, the details of delivery decide how stable a listing stays.

Jörg Saborowski

Founder and managing director of MEX. He set up the DSW logistics structure in 2026 as the successor to the former Med Logistik Service GmbH — focused on temperature-sensitive and sterile-packaged medical devices for German hospitals. He owns the logistics layer within the MEX group.

Logistics is where a good product can fail inside the hospital — if nobody knows the delivery conventions. That is exactly where DSW starts.

Frequently asked questions

What clients usually want to clarify.

Is DSW Logistik GDP-certified?
Yes, at the relevant warehouse sites. Cold chain validation is carried out for each specific product class.
Can we book DSW Logistik without hospital sales?
In principle yes, but it rarely makes sense. Logistics without sales means inventory with no outflow. In special situations — supplying a clinical study without a commercial roll-out, for example — booking it on its own is possible.
What are the delivery times into German hospitals?
Standard delivery within 24 to 48 hours from order. Express and emergency deliveries by direct freight are established.
Who is the hospitals’ contracting party for deliveries?
The client GmbH (Module 1). DSW Logistik carries out the delivery operationally, but towards the hospital it is your client GmbH that appears.
